The 2018 Give Back Celebration was more than a fun night.  It was an opportunity to express the gratitude we feel for everyone who’s helped Accounting Aid Society turn our vision of an inclusive economy into a reality.

WDIV-Channel 4 Anchor Jason Colthorp set the evening’s tone with his rapid-fire sense of humor. Guests enjoyed a strolling supper with local samplings from a Mexican Fiesta Bar, Po-Boy Sandwiches, a loaded Mashed Potato Bar and decadent desserts including a Detroit favorite, the Vernor’s Float.

Board Treasurer John Anstett presented former Board Member Doug Roosa with the Individual Give Back Award for his long-term dedication. The Corporate Give Back Award was presented to Rob Clary on behalf of Ford Motor Company by Board Chair Greg Nowak. And Lisa Howze, Board Vice Chair, challenged the crowd during the Dedicated Giving portion of the evening to raise $17,775 to support Accounting Aid Society programs including free tax assistance, financial coaching and services to small businesses.

The event brought in more than $148,000 through sponsorships, a silent and live auction, dedicated giving, ticket sales and donations. If you missed the party, you can view photos here.
