Accounting Aid Society is the largest provider of free income tax preparation services for low and moderate income households in Michigan.

Each year, millions of dollars in tax refunds are unclaimed by those who need them the most.

We help struggling families prepare taxes and recover more than $14 million in refunds and credits each year.

In this way, we help families stay in their homes, keep their utilities turned on, put food on the table, and save for the future.

Support Our Mission


Your donation can help our low to moderate income neighbors become more financially stable. This single mother of two made only $10,830 last year. Accounting Aid helped her get back $5,000 in refunds and credits. In the past, she paid almost $800 to get her taxes prepared by someone else. Thanks to Accounting Aid, she was able to keep all of her much-needed refund to help herself and her family.
